Christmas Jeopardy for your next holiday game night

Bring everyone around one screen for a Christmas trivia board with five categories and 25 clues. CardYard generates the full set before play, so the host can move between tiles, reveal answers and award points without waiting for another AI request. Play with two to four teams at a family gathering, office party or holiday video call.

How to play Christmas Jeopardy

  1. Choose Christmas Mix or a focused preset. Add a custom topic if you want a particular audience, era or difficulty.
  2. Name two to four teams and choose an optional 15-second answer timer. Select Generate Board.
  3. Choose a category and a tile worth 100–500 points. Give spoken guesses, then let the host reveal the answer. Revealing ends guessing.
  4. Award the tile’s points to one team, or mark it unanswered. Completed tiles stay visible. Undo the latest score before opening another clue.
  5. Finish all 25 clues to see the winners, or confirm End Game to finish early. Refreshing the same tab restores the current board and scores when session storage is available.

Five Christmas categories to start with

Christmas Traditions
Decorations, seasonal customs and familiar celebrations. Narrow the focus to a country or region your guests know.
Movies & TV
Christmas films, holiday episodes and festive characters. Specify an era to match your group’s favorites.
Songs
Christmas song titles, performers and well-known musical traditions. Keep clues recognizable without relying on long lyric quotations.
Festive Food
Christmas treats, seasonal drinks and holiday meals. Regional food traditions can make a focused round.
Random Facts
A Christmas-related mix of familiar objects, stories and customs. Use it for variety while keeping every clue seasonal.

Make the difficulty fit your guests

Use 100-point clues for broad recognition and reserve 500-point clues for more specific knowledge. A harder clue should still have one clear, established answer. Avoid changing statistics, disputed superlatives and numerical guesses. AI can make mistakes: review prepared lists, accept equivalent answers and void a clue if its wording or answer is questionable.

Try a custom focus such as “Mostly 1990s Christmas movies,” “Easy clues for our office party,” or “Christmas traditions around Europe.” The selected preset stays the main subject, so switch from Christmas Mix to Movies & TV when you want every column to cover films and television.

Host with phone buzzers

Premium hosts can create a room when room hosting is enabled. The host is a facilitator and needs at least two populated teams. Guests join in their browsers, then the host selects a clue and opens buzzing. The first buzz accepted by the server gives that team the attempt. An incorrect answer costs no points, but that team cannot try again on the same clue.

Keep the host screen private because it contains the answer. Correct answers, exhausted attempts and host reveals show the answer to everyone. If the optional timer expires, that attempt ends and other teams can buzz. Late arrivals wait for the next clue. Use your existing video call or speak in the room; no voice connection is built in.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Christmas Jeopardy?

Create a board, split into two to four teams and choose a category and point value. Teams answer aloud. The host reveals the answer and awards 100–500 points to a correct team. The highest score after 25 clues wins; ties are allowed.

Is Christmas Jeopardy free?

Shared-screen play is free within CardYard’s generation limits. Each new board uses one generation allowance. Premium is required to host phone-join rooms; guests can join without Premium.

Can I customize the Christmas questions?

Yes. Choose Christmas Mix, traditions, movies and TV, songs, festive food or random facts. Add a custom focus to refine the audience, difficulty or aspect of Christmas. A focused preset creates five related subcategories.

Do answers have to be phrased as questions?

No. Give an ordinary spoken answer. The host judges equivalent answers, and wrong guesses never subtract points. There are no wagers, Daily Doubles or final wager rounds.

Can we play on a video call or at an office party?

Yes. Share the local game screen and answer aloud, or use a Premium-hosted room with phone buzzers. A room host keeps their answer screen private. Use your existing call for audio.

Are these questions curated, and is this game in the app?

This English browser game uses AI-generated clues, not a curated question bank. The host can void a questionable clue. Christmas Jeopardy is not currently available as native gameplay in the CardYard app.
