CardYard's Imposter is a complete pass-the-phone social deduction game. Unlike a word-grid generator, it privately assigns the role, guides every handoff, runs discussion and voting, and resolves the final guess.
How a round works
- Pick your group size and word theme.
- Pass the phone and reveal each private role once.
- Give clues without making the secret too obvious.
- Vote for the suspicious player.
- Catch the Imposter before they guess the word.
Made for game night
There are no accounts, downloads, or room codes in the core game. Names are optional, roles stay on the device, and hiding the browser immediately covers any revealed role.

How do you play the Imposter game?
Pass one phone around. Every crew player sees the same secret word, while one player sees that they are the Imposter. Give one clue each, discuss, and vote.
How many people can play?
CardYard Imposter supports 3 to 12 players on one phone.
Does the Imposter know the secret word?
No. The Imposter tries to blend in from everyone else's clues. If caught, they get one final chance to guess the word.
Is this Imposter game free?
Yes. The complete game loop and four large word packs are free. Premium adds more themes and custom rounds.
Do we need a room code?
No. This version is designed for people together in the same room using one phone.
