1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using CardYard (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility & Age Restrictions

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Premium subscriptions and mature content are available only to users who meet the age requirement shown in the product surface. The iOS app requires a 17+ confirmation and the Android app requires a 16+ confirmation before use. By purchasing a subscription or accessing mature packs you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement.

3. Use License

We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not grant you any rights to:

  • modify or copy the Service’s software, interface, or content other than your own user‑generated content;
  • resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service’s software;
  • attempt to reverse engineer or decompile any software;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

4. User‑Generated Content

Cards and other creative outputs you generate using CardYard remain your intellectual property. By creating or submitting content, you grant CardYard a perpetual, worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to store, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and incorporate that content into existing or future card packs or other products and services, commercial or non‑commercial, without additional compensation to you. This license is necessary so we can, for example, feature user‑generated cards in packs available to the community. We do not claim ownership of your creations, and you remain free to exploit them however you wish, including for your own commercial projects.

5. Premium Subscriptions & Lifetime Purchases

  • Plans. Premium plans may be offered weekly on iOS and monthly, every three months, or annually on Android and the web. Subscription plans renew automatically at the then-current rate until cancelled. Legacy plans, including existing annual subscriptions, continue to renew at their original terms.
  • Lifetime. On the web, Premium may also be offered as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Lifetime is charged once, never renews, and stays attached to the CardYard account used to buy it for as long as CardYard operates the Premium service. It cannot be transferred to another account. Lifetime access ends if the payment is refunded or reversed through a chargeback, or if the account is deleted or suspended under these Terms.
  • Web billing. Web payments are processed by Stripe; you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for each renewal period, or once for a Lifetime purchase.
  • iOS billing. Subscriptions purchased in the CardYard iOS app are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Apple handles billing, cancellation, refund requests, and subscription management for those purchases.
  • Android billing. Subscriptions purchased in the CardYard Android app are processed by Google Play. Google handles billing, cancellation, refund requests, and subscription management for those purchases.
  • Cancellation. Web subscriptions may be cancelled through the customer portal. iOS subscriptions use Apple Account settings, and Android subscriptions use Google Play subscription settings. For ordinary subscription cancellation, access remains active until the end of the current billing cycle. Account deletion is different: linked Stripe subscriptions and account access end immediately, as described below.
  • Refunds. Web fees are generally non-refundable. Apple and Google handle refund requests for purchases made through their respective stores.
  • Price Changes. We may change subscription prices or features with at least 30 days’ notice (via email or in‑app message).

6. Free Tier & Usage Limits

  • Guests. Unauthenticated users may generate up to 2 requests per 24‑hour period per IP address.
  • Signed-in free users. Accounts without Premium may generate up to 5 requests per 24‑hour period per account.
  • Premium. Premium is designed for unlimited normal party play without free-tier daily interruptions.
  • Fair use. Premium AI generation, including Lifetime, is intended for personal and group party play. Automated, scripted, resold, or otherwise excessive use beyond normal play may be rate limited or capped so the Service stays available for everyone.
  • Anti‑abuse. We may adjust limits, throttle, or suspend accounts to prevent abuse or fraud. Limits and caps may change; we will post updates in these Terms or in‑app.

7. Content Guidelines

You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or share content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or depicts real‑person non‑consensual sexual activity. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service and all AI‑generated content are provided "as is." CardYard makes no warranties, express or implied, and disclaims any responsibility for content that is inaccurate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable. Your use is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardYard and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or abused the Service.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your CardYard account from Profile on the website or through Settings > Account > Delete Account in the iOS or Android app, or follow the external account deletion instructions to contact support. Deleting your CardYard account removes or anonymizes the account record and associated personal data that we are not legally required to retain. Account deletion immediately cancels linked Stripe subscriptions and stops collection of unpaid subscription bills. No automatic refund is issued. Apple and Google Play subscriptions must be canceled separately through the applicable store. Limited billing history and records required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes may be retained.

12. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the effective date of the latest version. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
