Choose a category, generate a statement and read it aloud. Anyone who has done it responds; anyone who has not waits for the next card. Share one phone around the table, or have a host read the prompts over your usual group call. Start with clean questions for mixed groups and choose adult categories only when everyone wants that tone.

For a simple ten-fingers house game, everyone holds up ten fingers and lowers one each time a statement applies to them. Keep that count yourselves; the generator supplies the statements. You can also play without scores and let each answer start a short story.

How the Game Works

  1. Agree on a category and whether you are playing for stories or using the ten-fingers house rule.
  2. Generate a statement beginning with “Never have I ever…” and read the entire card.
  3. Players who have done it say so or lower one finger. Players who have not leave their fingers up.
  4. Invite a short story if someone wants to share. Anyone may pass without explaining.
  5. Draw the next statement and rotate the reader. In the house scoring version, choose when to stop before you begin.

Prompt Styles

Switch categories to control the comfort level and party energy.

  • Clean rounds: Use lighter categories for mixed groups, work events, families, and early-party warmups.
  • Party rounds: Use social prompts that are easy to answer quickly and fun to debate.
  • Premium rounds: Unlock spicier or darker categories when the room is ready for stronger prompts.

Example Round

Never have I ever pretended to know a song everyone else was singing.

Alex and Sam have done it, so each lowers one finger in the house game. Jo has not, so Jo's count stays the same. Alex tells the story if they want, then the reader draws another card.

  • Never have I ever forgotten why I walked into a room.
  • Never have I ever confidently sung the wrong lyrics.
